The Story Behind the Spoonful of Chef Eric Chavot
London transplant and Michelin starred Chef Éric Chavot came across what became his favorite spoon among the abandoned equipment left in the kitchen of his first restaurant by the previous tenant. Since March 1995, he’s been carrying this spoon in his back pocket.
"It's a perfect size—not too large or too small for most tasks requiring a spoon—has great depth and weight, excellent balance, is easy to handle, and is an ideal shape perfect for making quenelles." In short, this spoon has it all. Plated around it are ingredients that display a beautiful combination of colours, flavours and textures, both visually and for the palate. "The whole ensemble reflects where the evolution of my cooking currently is. It portrays my love of and care for food...the creativity, passion and attention to detail," says Chavot.
