The Story Behind the Spoonful of Chef Enrico Crippa
While traveling to Alba, Italy, Brent was able to capture the magic of Michelin-starred chef Enrico Crippa in this captivating shot. Strewn with hand selected flowers and herbs grown on site at his restaurant, Crippa captured the happiness of summer in his Spoonful. The ingredients Crippa plated represent "research, quality and passion" to him and are accompanied by his most intimately familiar spoon.
When asked to describe his Spoonful, Crippa views it from a playful angle: "It's a sort of date between prawns that come from Ligurian sea (the region next to us) and cherries, the queens of summer in Piedmont" where the Ristorante Piazza Duomo is located. "It tells about my kitchen and my experience", both centered in a region with an incredible terrior that lends its unique characteristics to every last ingredient Crippa uses at his world renowned restaurant.
