Winter Gin Cocktail Recipes – How to make

by | Jan 18, 2021

This Holiday inspired beet infused gin cocktail is perfect for a festive holiday night
Beet juice is one of those distinct flavors that if well balanced and mixed it can feel warm, earthy, and delicious.  That is why we chose to mix this drink with lemon and Botanist Gin.  The botanicals that make up the Botanist Gin’s notes make for a good balance in this drink.
Main Spirit: Botanist Gin Ingredients: 2 oz Botanist Gin, ½ oz Lemon Juice, juice, ½ tsbp Simple Syrup, 2 oz Beet Juice, 3 oz Champagne or Prosecco Preparation: Shake gin, simple syrup, lemon, and beet juice in a cocktail shaker with ice. Then strain into a highball glass. Finally, top with bubbles and garnish with beet slices Served: Served over a collins ice cube or several cubes of ice. Standard garnish: Beet slices or lemon disk for garnish Drinkware: Highball glass

Gin Martini

A Martini is quite possibly the most specifically called drink orders. Most gin drinkers prefer theirs a specific way. Even when ordering the classic gin-and-vermouth ratio, there are numerous kinds of gins, a number of garnishes, even different gin-to-vermouth ratios with which to customize the classic cocktail. And then there are the real twists: swapping out the gin or even the vermouth for a different spirit or adding new flavors altogether. Here is my favorite Gin Martini.
Main Spirit: Botanist Gin Ingredients: 2½ oz Botanist Gin, ½ oz Dry Vermouth (Dolin Dry Vermouth de Chambery), 2 dashes of Orange Bitters Preparation: Stir gin and vermouth in mixing glass with ice. After well chilled. (50 complete rotations with a mixing spoon) Strain into a highball glass. Top with bitters. Served: Neat Standard garnish: Lemon Peel Drinkware: Martini or Coupe Glass

Cinnamon Hot Toddy

Gin is a great choice for a hot cinnamon toddy because it is very smooth and blends will with the spices and lemon. Since this drink is so simple, there’s not much to distract from the flavor notes of the Botanist Gin and it takes on a new life when under heat, with the flavors opening up beautifully.
Main Spirit:  Botanist Gin Ingredients: 1 ½ oz Botanist Gin, ½ oz Lemon Juice, ½ oz Cinnamon Syrup, 2 oz Hot Water, 2 dash Angostura bitters Preparation: Pour the gin, lemon, and syrup into the toddy glass and place under an infusion funnel.  Then place broken cinnamon sticks, lemon wedges, cloves, and any other spice that might inspire you.  Pour hot water over them and let sit for 2-3 mins then strain into glass and gently mix with a spoon.  Top with a dash of bitters. Served: Hot Standard garnish: Cinnamon stick Drinkware: Hot toddy mug or coffee mug
